Listen to this short podcast as you start your new morning.
In Joshua 1:8 we are commanded to meditate on the Word. “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.” Sadly, not very many Christians follow this commandment. Meditation has a wary meaning to many Christians who associate it with New Age, Eastern meditation or other religions that use meditation as part of their spiritual practice and worship.
I have found that meditating on the Word of God and spending quiet time alone, just as Jesus did often in the garden or on the mountain, has helped me to develop a deeper meaning to the scriptures, God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. It helps me to handle life situations more adequately from a spiritual perspective rather than from a physical or worldly point of view. When I see through the eyes of my heart, the Spirit opens me to truth, purity, love and forgiveness.
I have recorded a short meditation that I use most days to begin my day. I hope you will put aside every negative thing you have heard about meditation and listen to this recording. You will find that Christian meditation can become a tool to get you closer to God than you ever have.
Find a comfortable position in a quiet place free from distractions and listen to the meditation.
I would love to hear your feedback as well.

Welcome to Divine Visions Online Podcasts Episode 1: Each Moment Is Sacred.
We too often take for granted the things God has blessed us with. Breath, heart beats, a job and family and even something so simple as color. This is a short recording about becoming aware that each moment is sacred.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. John 10:10
Christendom usually refers to this verse when describing the plan and work of Satan. Satan comes to steal our joy, kill our chances of eternal life and destroy our dreams for the future.
Sun Tzu, an ancient Chinese military general, strategist and philosopher once said, “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle”
If we correlate Sun Tzu’s words to Christianity we see the need to know our enemy, Satan. The know that Satan is an angel who disobeyed God and as a result was banished from heaven along with his followers. Now Satan is ruler over darkness and everything evil. He also is a great manipulator and tries to trick us into believing untruths. He tries to affect our thoughts, emotions and beliefs and sway us into believing his lies. So we see the importance of knowing Satan.
Now what about yourself. Do you know yourself? Do you know your strengths and weaknesses, your dogma and doctrine, your good points and bad points. Do you know what you need to run from and run towards? Do you know your real power…the power to withstand temptation, the power to say no when you need to and yes when you should. Do you know you have One on your side who has already defeated Satan?
If not, I’d like to introduce you to my Jesus. He is so cool. He helps you through the storms of life, the floods and the droughts. He comforts you in times of sickness and pain. He is always by your side and never leaves you. He is big brother and best friend.
Today be aware of your power to overcome and when you look in the mirror, don’t forget who you are.
